No file at hand? (Clementi, Sonatina op. 36 no. 1).
The player is the audio player of OpenSheetMusicDisplay (OSMD), the MusicXML renderer we maintain, running in your browser tab. It draws the score, plays every part with its own instrument, follows repeats, dynamics and tempo marks, and moves a cursor along the notes.
The instrument sounds come from the FluidR3 General MIDI soundfont and load from this site the first time a score needs them. The MP3 and WAV downloads are rendered in your browser too, faster than real time.
Other sites can link a score straight into the player: musicxml.tools/player/?url= followed by the address of a MusicXML file. The file's server has to allow cross-origin requests.
No. The score is read, drawn and played in your browser, and the file never leaves your computer. Only the instrument sounds are downloaded, from this site.
Yes, before or while it plays. The tempo is in beats per minute, counted in the beat of the score's tempo mark. A tempo you set replaces the tempo changes written in the score, until you open the file again.
On WordPress, the premium add-on of OSMD for WordPress brings the same playback to your pages. For other websites and apps, the audio player is part of OSMD's sponsor build: see opensheetmusicdisplay.org.
Tell us at support@phonicscore.com, with the file if you can. The MusicXML Validator shows whether the file itself has problems.
Built on OpenSheetMusicDisplay audio player (OSMD Extended 2.2.1, by PhonicScore), FluidR3 General MIDI soundfont by Frank Wen, from midi-js-soundfonts (MIT, CC BY 3.0 in the converted set), LAME MP3 encoder, through wasm-media-encoders (LGPL (LAME), MIT (wasm-media-encoders)).
Our tools run on OpenSheetMusicDisplay, the open-source MusicXML renderer (BSD-3-Clause) for the browser and Node.js.
OSMD for WordPress puts sheet music on your site; the premium add-on adds playback, transposition and downloads.
